STRING JAMS

String Jams offers 7th through 12th grade orchestra students the opportunity to connect musically and develop their string instrument skills. These teens focus on various genres of music—rock, pop, hip-hop, and jazz—and have the opportunity to learn and perform in public concerts and community events throughout the year. Want to join? We just ask that you’ve had at least one year of experience on your instrument!

Our mixed-level format allows our older musicians to develop performance leadership skills by leading the younger, less experienced ones. It also allows our younger players to build their confidence in musical performance as they perform with the older, more experienced ones.

String Jams occurs in two sessions: one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Both sessions conclude with a community performance!
